I decided to post about Father's Day, after the fact. We had a great day today, and I'm sure that Matt would agree. Brookelyn and I had a plan up our sleeve for over a month to surprise Matt. We don't usually buy anything big for Mother's Day or Father's Day, but there was something that I REALLY wanted to get for him this year.. so it was a big surprise!
{Surprise!}
{Yes, Cohen is wearing cowboy boot slippers. He refused to take them off even for the picture!}
After the big reveal and giving Matt his cards, my dad and Grandma came over for a little brunch. The weather was really nice outside today, so we spent some time in the backyard playing with one of Cohen's new toys from his birthday party! (From my dad actually)
Later in the afternoon we visited Matt's dad and played a few rounds of dominos. The mother in law is in Texas visiting family and the kids sure missed seeing her! We came home in the early evening, had leftovers for dinner and relaxed. Love days when we just hang out with family.
Brookelyn, Cohen and I are so incredibly thankful for Matt. I couldn't have asked for a better husband to be a father to my kids. Both kids absolutely adore him. He has so much love for these kids and has had to learn so much about being a dad. (He was never really around kids when he was younger) I can see changes in him all of the time though, and I love it. Watching him interact with the kids makes me happy, beyond happy! He's got a big heart and a lot of love for Brookelyn & Cohen! We love him more than he probably know and our love for him grows each and every day. Happy Father's Day, Matt! We love you to the moon & back.
And, I can't forget my own Daddy! He's been there through it all and has always stood by my side. I love him more than he'll ever know! I could NOT have had a better father growing up (or now). He's also the greatest grandpa ever. My kids absolutely love him! Happy Father's Day Daddy!!
