As you probably know, Brookelyn's birthday was this past week. But, with school just starting and things being crazy around here we decided to have her party on the 17th. I can't believe I've only got one week left to plan and am nowhere near being ready!
{i've got a wonderful lady, Morgan from Sassy Pants Cupcake Accessories making some flower cupcake toppers just like in this picture. the collection of old hankies that I have in the linen closet is finally being put to good use! and, tonight i'm buying tulle to make that adorable cupcake stand skirt.}
{ealier this week I finished up a lovely little paint chip garland like this made with our party colors. i'm making these marshmallow candies, not because they're french but because they're just cute!}
That's what I've got so far! A list of food & some info about cookies is coming soon from my aunt Sandy who taught French for years and has traveled to France too many times to count. Did I also mention that she's teaching a French lesson at the party?! SO excited for that.
My dilemma is this... what do I do for favors? I don't want to spend a lot, because I'm already spending a fair amount. But, I need to think of something. I've already decided against Eiffel Tower shaped cookies, so that's out. The kids are making a necklace (with modpodge & pieces of wood, I think). So.. any ideas for favors? Please. Help!!!

You could give out magnets or clothes pins with a french word or phrase, like Oui or C'est bien. You could also take a group picture and put it on a Parisian background. If you did both, the girls could use their magnets or clothespins to hang their pictures.

Another idea (if you don't mind a bit of a mess) is to get a bunch of cheap canvases or even just sketch paper, and tell the girls a little about how art is such an important part of Paris' history, and have them make their own masterpiece. You could have them pretend to be at the Louvre and paint something, or be at Montmartre (where so many famous artists lived) and they can sketch each others' portraits. I guess that's more of an activity idea than a party favor, but it would be something they could take home.

Thank you both so much. I'm so excited to use all of your ideas!!
I like the idea of mini canvases and having them paint of them or get those cheap wooden picture frames and let the girls paint those and them print out a photo and let them frame it (a group photo or an individual or a photo of them w/ B).
You could also send them home w/ a little treat that is a favor that they don't have to craft... stealing from Martha... http://www.marthastewart.com/photogallery/baby-shower-favors#slide_12 (skipping the expensive vanilla bean. and you could write "merci beaucoup" on them)
