Info for all WINNERS!!

I feel like maybe it's safe to say, I'm back. The past 2 weeks have been crazy for our family. Last week both kids were REALLY sick. I was at the doctors office with both of them for at least 4 hours EVERY day last week (except for Friday, only 1 hour!). Our pediatrician is awesome and was doing all she could to keep from having to admit Cohen to the hospital with his pneumonia. The kids each got breathing treatments and oxygen while we were at her office. Luckily, each time she did this it helped enough that we could go home, sleep in our own beds in our own house... rather than a hospital room. For that, we were extremely thankful, even if it did mean that we'd have to get up the next day and go into her office again for a few hours. Yes, it was a VERY long week and I got NO sewing done. As much as I wanted to come home and sew, I was so tired by the time the kids went to bed that I needed to rest.
...and apparently I didn't rest enough, because Saturday morning I woke up sick. We had to cancel our trip to Disneyland and it's a good thing we did because I just kept getting worse and worse. Sunday morning, I woke up feeling worse and Monday.. same thing. I did have about an hour on Monday morning where I felt good, started sewing and then BAM... I was down again. By that night I was kind of worried, because it really was VERY hard to breathe! Tuesday the in laws took care of getting Brookelyn to and from school and caring for Cohen and in the afternoon Matt took me to my doctor. She said if I'd come in Wed morning she probably would have had to admit me to the hospital, because I sounded that bad. Luckily though, after 2 shots of meds, breathing treatments, antibiotics and a VERY eventful office visit (see.. embarrassing!) I came home, slept and woke up Wednesday morning feeling quite a bit better. I took the day to really recooperate and am feeling much better today. Thank goodness. So, the sewing will go a bit slow.. but it's starting. I have some deadlines that I HAVE to meet, so I've got to get on it. Hopefully, my hands will not be too shakey from the albuterol.. it's kinda hard to type! haha.

Anyway... what this post is really for... my Winners!! I am SO happy that there are so many of you and I am SO sorry that you're still waiting on your items. Here's the thing though... The perfect accessory for winter...

A Scarf!!
I'm calling it, the Scrappy Scarf because it's made completely of scraps of fabric from my work area. I've always wondered what to do with my scraps (I send the smaller ones to a friend) other than making hair clips.. and this week, I discovered that I can make adorable scarves!! So, now I've got a couple listed in the Etsy shop!! Check them out, I happen to think they're pretty cute!

Meet the Judges!!

There are only 10 days left to enter the "Design Your Own Dress" Contest and so I decided that I should let you all know who is going to be judging your contest entries and choosing a winner. So, here they are...

Tisha Galloway from So Fun Fabrics on Etsy.

Tisha and I have gotten to know each other a little bit through emails on Etsy. So Fun Fabrics is one of my "go to" Etsy shops when I need fabric and Tisha has been a great help to me. And, she is only located about 3 hours from me, so I always know that my shipments will get here quickly! We have similar taste and so I know that she'll be a great judge!

Karen Veneziano from Venezie Designs on Etsy.

Karen is the owner of my other "go to" Etsy shop for fabric! She too, has been a great help to me in choosing prints, etc! I love the fact that she not only has the Etsy shop, but also has an actual store that just opened not too long ago! How fun would it be to have a fabric shop?! I'd be in heaven. (Except of course the, work part of it.)

Casi Densmoore-Koon the
editor of cupcakeMAG.
Casi emailed me asking if cupcakeMAG could use one of my mermaid skirts (in my Etsy shop) for an upcoming photo shoot and feature Eisley Rae on cupcakeMAG! I said yes, of course! And, was quite excited that Eisley Rae would be getting such awesome exposure, on a REAL fashion blog!

Thanks to Tisha, Karen and Casi! I can't wait to see who the winner of the "Design Your Own Dress" Contest will be! Good luck to those of you who have entered, you've all chosen some adorable combinations of fabric!

Happy New Year!! Lots of new things coming in 2011 for Eisley Rae!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years Eve! My family spent lots of time with extended family and had a great couple of weeks, once the sewing was finally finished. I never thought I would have been so incredibly busy this past month. SO thankful for all of my customers.

2011 is bringing some new and exciting things to us at Eisley Rae!! First off, Eisley Rae was invited to be featured on a fashion blog, Cupcake Mag. One of the mermaid skirts that has been listed in the Etsy shop for a while now is being sent to be used in a photo shoot for the blog. Sometime the week of January 24th, there will be a post with the pics! In February there will be a solo feature and interview! I can't wait to see how it all comes together.

Last night I ordered some new, adorable fabric! It's a Hoot is something different and exciting for me. I love the owls and know that they're quite trendy right now. I only ordered a limited amount of the fabric, so if you're interested in anything PLEASE let me know ASAP!!

I'm most excited about a couple of new things that I plan to add to the shop this year, for winter... (per customers requests, so thanks to those of you who suggested things!) Swing Jackets, Knit Ruffle Pants, Long Sleeve T-Dresses and Pillowcase Dresses!!

Well, it just started snowing, here in Southern California!! So, I'm off to enjoy one final day of Winter Vacation with my family! Happy New Year to you all!!
