one twenty four thirteen

how has your week been? please say that it's been great and that you've all been healthy.

this week seems to have lasted forever.  i started the weekend off with a cold. luckily, i think i've made it through the worst of it. the cold dry weather is killing my sinuses. but it's also been so cold out that we're spending lots of time snuggling inside and enjoying hot cocoa, tea & coffee. so, there are ups to the downs! always.

after ordering brookelyn new bedding at christmas, receiving it and hating it i came across this adorable set from pottery barn teen. she asked if we can "kind of" recreate the whole room.
i'm SO excited to get to work.

did you see the exciting new yesterday?! i am beyond happy to welcome Pamela to the blog and canNOT wait to see what deliciousness she has in store for us.

DUDE! do you see that? it's been COLD, yo. to say that we've been bundling up would be putting it lightly. those temps only lasted a couple of days. thank goodness.

brookelyn and i spent some time with norah and karri this week. while the little girls played, the mamas broke out the sewing machines. i'm excited for this fun pillow. it'll go great with brookey's new bedding.

we got just a little dusting of snow the other night. enough to make things pretty.

after a big instaSALE this week, i have just these 4 items left. each coffee cuff is $8 shipped and each hoop is $10 shipped. (the hoops are 3") leave your paypal in the comments if you'd like one. i've got some fun new things coming in the following weeks!

today, thanks to a sweet discount code (and free shipping) from old navy, i bought myself this gorgeous new sweater and a shirt. i canNOT wait to get this sweater. the reviews are great & a few friends on IG mentioned that they have it and love it.

today i failed. there were all of these great ideas brewing in my head. a chai tea cookie. yum, right? and, almond extract because i'm addicted to it and knew it'd add just the extra flavor i was hoping for. so, for the first time EVER, i set out to bake a batch of cookies with NO recipe what so ever. i'm sad to say that the cookies didn't really come out as planned. the flavor really isn't bad. even the kids and matt said so. but the texture is a bit funky. dry maybe? i'm hoping though that with a little tweeking of the "recipe", i can try again and these will be fabulous. can you bake from scratch w/out a recipe? i can cook just fine and it's very rare that i ever use a recipe. apparently the same just isn't true for baking.

and that was our week. please tell me, how was yours?
are you doing anything fun this weekend? we've got another 3 day weekend and i'm hoping to do some fun activities with the kids. we'll be making valentine's day cards to mail out and decorating with the doilies & twine i just bought. and, we're supposed to get a bit of snow! have i mentioned that we LOVE it here?

It was dangerous, I walked into Pottery Barn kids the other day and fell in love with their bedding. I want to get it for Emma, but am waiting till she is older so it will be on a bigger bed at least or maybe when we turn her crib into the toddler bed.

I love that bedding, and the mug is very cute, too! Oof... I can't say that I am sad that "cold" is now 30 instead -3 (in Atlanta as opposed to the NE).

i love that pillow you are making. so cute. do you have those in your shop. i am hoping to redo the girls room maybe this summer or fall, they're bedding is all torn up and i need to get leila into a big girl bed anyways..so i may as well go for a redo. i did their room thinking it could last for a while and tecnnically is is very teeny boppy so it could, but is saw the room on a blog and i fell in love... figures, right? =)
